Quartz Taipan

Real-Time Interactive Collaboration

Both the Hitachi S-3400N Type II (VPSEM, EDS/ Raman) and the Hitachi S-4800 Type II (FESEM,STEM, EDS) are equipped with Quartz PCI Collaboration Microscopy that can enable interactive sessions through the internet. Our system will allow live video feeds of the laboratories and the SEM sessions. Rapid transfer of data is achieved through the use of Quartz Taipan. The system can be used for off-site collaboration from laboratory to office or laboratory to classroom presentations. Distant and remote locations can now utilize our services.

Quartz Taipan - The Taipan Server Appliance is designed to capture data from almost any digital imaging instrument. With Taipan as the central archive for your laboratory, your data is only a network or Internet connection away. The Taipan Server Appliance provides large storage capacity and completely secure data accessibility via the LAN or through the Internet. Hitachi H-8100

The Hitachi H8100 TEM - The Hitachi H8100 is a 200kV conventional TEM with high brightness LaB6 electron source and large specimen-tilt (> 30 degrees) capabilities. It offers phase contrast resolution of better than 0.26 (point) and 0.14 nm (line). It is equipped with small probe forming lenses for nanodiffraction, CBED and hollow-cone illumination. A heating stage (up to 1000C) and a LN2 cooling stage coupled with CCD high resolution camera allows unique dynamic in-situ experiments.
